Birthdate
[edit]Since the actor's estimated birth year and age has been challenged, to explain this estimate, the Los Angeles Times said here in April 21, 2017 that the actor was 20 years old. The {{birth based on age as of date}} template is used to estimate the birth year and age. We cannot use public records to establish date of birth per WP:BLPPRIMARY. - IMDb states that he was born in 1997. [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul C Goddard (talk • contribs) 13:12, 8 August 2017 (UTC)
- Paul C Goddard, IMDb is not a reliable source since it is mostly user-generated content. That mini-bio is written by one "Asif Ahsan Khan", and we have no idea his credibility. It is not a big deal to have an age range within one year at this point. Surely in the near future a reliable source will directly state the birth year and even the birth date. Structure
[edit]NinjaRobotPirate, which structure do you prefer, this or https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fionn_Whitehead&oldid=805088107 this]? Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 13:11, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
- I had to look up how I usually do it. It looks like I often split career and personal life, like in Mike Flanagan (director), but I arguably had enough to write about there. In Maria Olsen, it looks like I also did this despite not really having much to say. It hasn't ever really been a deliberate stylistic choice, though. I guess my thought process was that it made things a little tidier to split this stuff up. I have no idea what I was thinking when I created an "early history" section in David Bruckner. It seems I'm kind of erratic at times but usually split stuff into small (possibly too small?) sections. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 23:49, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
Pronunciation
[edit]Ironman1104, regarding this, the inline citation writes, "says Fionn (pronounced 'fin')" as seen here. Wikipedia follows sources. There is no need to change from "fin" to "Finn". Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 12:57, 3 September 2018 (UTC)
I've now issued Ironman1104 a warning for their unsourced edit. Why is it so hard to follow the source in what they say? Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 13:49, 3 September 2018 (UTC)

Birthdate revisited
[edit]Regarding Whitehead's date of birth, the date of 18 July 1997 has been included for some time with a source, and that has been changed to 16 April 1997, though without a source. I've improved the DOB source with UPI. Of course, it is possible that UPI has gathered and reported incorrect information, but it is a reliable source. It is still possible that Whitehead's DOB is 16 April 1997 or some other date, but we need a reliable source that clears up this matter. At this time, there is no reliably sourced reason to doubt 18 July 1997. If such doubt can be established, then we can report the correct DOB (if it is shared) or go back to a rough two-year range (e.g., 1997/1998).
