As we have a little bit of a debacle going on re this I thought it was best to start a discussion here. As far as I can tell there's been a birth date of 10 October 1948 going around for a while but I've not seen any remotely reliable sources which support this. What we do have is a clipping from the Daily Mirror, apparently from March 1990, which gives her age as 42, so would indicate a birth year of 1947 or early 1948. (It's worth pointing out that the Daily Mirror is on our WP:Potentially unreliable sources list and should be used with caution.) In This archived interview Spence says she was born in Bromley, which leads me to believe that this birth registration is hers and that she was actually born in 1946. As it's a primary source we would need some reliable secondary ones to actually include it in the article. As we don't have any reliable sources for a birth date I say we leave it out for now, as per our WP:Biographies of living persons guidelines. Crisso (talk) 10:46, 27 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated the Woman's Day source, which gives her age as 76 in November 2022. Not particularly reliable but then neither is the Daily Mirror. We also now have her mother down as being named Pauline nee Connolly (though unsourced) which certainly fits in with the birth index entry quoted above, indicating that 1946 is correct. I vote born keep c. 1946 for now. Crisso (talk) 14:24, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
