[edit]From Scotland? This claim is completely unknown in Finland. --128.214.182.110 (talk) 11:34, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- The implication is that they are descendants of the Romany-speakers deported from Scotland to Scandinavia in the 16th century, then deported further to Finland from Sweden during the 17th century. Cf. Scandoromany and Norwegian and Swedish Travellers. —Zalktis (talk) 09:22, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- Now I found a mention of this. The claim indeed originates from Finland, but it is usually not considered plausible.

- The theory that the Kaale in Finland came from/via Great Britain is also mentioned in Kenrick, Historical Dictionary of the Gypsies (Romanies) (2007; ISBN 0810854686), p. 137. —Zalktis (talk) 08:05, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Kalo Finnish Romani language → Finnish Kalo — The name of this page is... weird. It seems to be a conglomerate of several names, all refs I can find call it Finnish Kalo, possibly even Finnish Romani but I don't know where this combination comes from. Akerbeltz (talk) 23:11, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
- The source in the article refers to it as Kalo Finnish. I support a move here, but is Finnish Kalo the right target? --Taelus (talk) 13:41, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
- Both Finnish Kalo and Kalo Finnish seem to be kicking around. In some way I think we will have to make a judgement call; I was basing mine on the general naming conventions for other calos, such as Spanish Caló, Portuguese Calão, Basque Caló, Welsh Kale where there is an adjective modifying the word Caló/Kalo.
