[edit]Another thing to mention about Fingringhoe is its gravel pit. It's got a wharf, from where a small fleet of ships carry sand and gravel, mostly up the Thames to London. The boats are named after members of the Prior family - Bert Prior, Brenda Prior, i forget the others. One of them, or rather the skipper of one of them, is the subject of a short film called 'Thames Barger', broadcast on Channel 4 as part of their 3 Minute Wonders series. I just watched it - it was on around eight o'clock in the evening today, 3rd of September 2008. One of those boats collided with a bridge in London last year, and it was closed for a couple of days. I can't find the details, though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.56.74.211 (talk) 19:28, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
