Reasons for removal of nomination for deletion tag
[edit]I removed the "non-notable fictional entity" deletion tag as I believe notability has been established in the newly created article.
- Significant coverage is established with a cited article solely about Finder-Spyder from a reputable source, TechRepublic, an online IT trade publication owned by CNET/CBS Interactive.
- Finder-Spyder fits squarely in Wikipedia's Fictional brands category, along with Oceanic Airlines, Morley cigarettes, Acme Corporation, and others.
- Finder-Spyder is popularly recognized as a leading fictional brand: A search for "top 10 fictional brands" yields multiple instances of Finder-Spyder listed as a Top 10 fictional brand.
- Use of Finder-Spyder in TV shows is significant: The initial list of shows in which Finder-Spyder appears includes extremely popular/highly rated series like Breaking Bad, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Criminal Minds; it appears in five episodes across four seasons of Prison Break.
The original deletion was based on "No reliable sources found. Nothing but trivia." The current, new version, still only a stub, is based on a reliable source, and contains detailed information (e.g. Finder-Spyder interface design and online tools) in addition to the list of show appearances. --Tsavage (talk) 22:05, 1 April 2014 (UTC)
