John Marshall in 1997
[edit]Would it be worth adding something to note that John Marshall, the Conservative candidate when the seat was first contested, was the outgoing MP for the abolished Hendon South constituency that was partly incorporated in the new Finchley and Golders Green? Some of the articles for constituencies which were first contested in 2010 (eg South Basildon and East Thurrock (UK Parliament constituency) and Broadland (UK Parliament constituency)) note where one of the candidates was an MP for an abolished seat in the previous parliament.
