Paragraph for discussion
[edit]I removed the following paragraph from the article due to its unencyclopedic tone:
- Usually, by the time a student comes round to do doing final exams, he/she is so fed up of doing them that they don't bother revising and fail. Or they get so stressed out about ruining their life as a result of said exams, they commit suicide. This seems irrational but is, in fact, commonplace. Avoid final exams, or do them at your peril.
However, I do think the article could use some discussion of the stress of final exams, and the occasional incidence of students choking or blanking out or otherwise performing poorly despite having studied very hard. bd2412 T 16:28, 16 January 2006 (UTC)
Hey, kudos to whoever added the FINALS acronym, "Fudge I Never Actually Learned Something." Nice touch!--Wikiphilia 01:39, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- I don't see why the FINALS acronym has to be "Fudge..." and not "Fuck..." since most people would use the latter. This is coupled with the fact that the article states that the acronym is "Edited for content." This makes me think that the true acronym begins with "Fuck" and not "Fudge." But why are we doing that? This is Wikipedia; we have an article on the word "Fuck" and I don't see why we should sanitize the acronym, especially if the original phrase began with "Fuck." Takehome Finals?
[edit]The article doesn't really specify, but what are take home finals? Doesn't this defeat the purpose of a final exam, as the student can just look up all of the answers at home? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.248.98.218 (talk) 18:15, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Proposed merge of Midterm exam into Final examination
[edit]Midterm exam is essentially a DICDEF and we really don't need two (unsourced) articles. Let's merge and rename this just Examination or something to simplify? ZimZalaBim talk 17:51, 18 May 2022 (UTC)
- Agree with DICDEF. A better target would be Exam, to which Final examination could be redirected (no unique content to merge), and the referenced comments in Midterm exam could be merged. Klbrain (talk) 17:27, 11 September 2022 (UTC)
- Agree with Klbrain's suggestion for target of merge. Joyous! | Talk 06:00, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
