Making List More Accurate

[edit]

Bully and Boys don't cry aren't really films à clef. They use the real names the people, and do not require the "key" required to figure it out.I have thus removed them from the examples. 24.148.26.74 (talk) 23:52, 20 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WorldCat Genres

[edit]

Hello, I'm working with OCLC, and we are algorithmically generating data about different Genres, like notable Authors, Book, Movies, Subjects, Characters and Places. We have determined that this Wikipedia page has a close affintity to our detected Genere of romans-a-clef. It might be useful to look at [1] for more information. Thanks. I recommend deletion

[edit]

It's a dictionary entry, with an appended list of OR.

Recommendation posted. Any discussion?

Article should be expanded, not deleted. Example Roman à clef. Brz7 (talk) 09:53, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Illogic is a poor argument. It remains a puffed-up dictionary entry, and any who'd claim it has potential utility are unable to turn it into something encyclopedic. I am not here to salvage all the abandoned ugly puppies littering Wikipedia. Weeb Dingle (talk) 19:45, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
A compromise: I will wait until the end of September (2017) before removing all of the "notable" examples that aren't at that time linked to a credible source. Weeb Dingle (talk) 19:49, 4 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Vote MERGE into Roman à clef (or just delete), furthermore most of the entries here are not true but instead "based on ..." which is different than "literally IS ... except with a name change" Hornpipe2 (talk) 15:51, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Film à clef

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Film à clef's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. Feel free to remove this comment after fixing the refs. AnomieBOT 18:32, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
