  • So what unit operated the S.E.5s? A flight of the FTS itself?
    • Several RAAF squadrons would have operated the S.E.5 at the time it was withdrawn from service; the source simply speaks of its retirement across the board a couple of years before Fighter Squadron was formed.
      • So I gather that none of the other squadrons operated single-seat fighters after the S.E.5s were retired, except for this one, during the early to mid-30s?--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:07, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
        • That's probably correct -- I think the other main combat aircraft was the Wapiti and that was a two-seat general-purpose aircraft. If you'd like me to see if I can source a statement that Fighter Squadron operated the only dedicated single-seat fighter in the RAAF during this period, I'm happy to look...
