Nautical Term

I've heard fiddlesticks used to refer to raised edges on the sides of tables, often found on boats. As the boat tilts in rough water, items on the table are likely to slide and the fiddlesticks prevent them from falling off entirely. When something falls of anyway, one might assign blame by exclaiming "Oh, fiddlesticks!".-jwanders^Talk 15:00, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
