Workplan - Fetal Distress

[edit]

Start Class, High Importance. We are interested, it is relevant to course content. WP editing team: Medwiki012345567, minhpcnguyen

Initial Analysis of the article Scant text. Initial writing is a few sentences. Mostly limited to bullet points. Limited references. No real definition.

Is each fact referenced with an appropriate, reliable reference? No

Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you? Relevant, but missing information. Is the article neutral? Are there any claims, or frames, that appear heavily biased toward a particular position? Touch on American obstetrics only -- more global approach? Perhaps too dismissive of the term “fetal distress”.

Where does the information come from? Are these neutral sources? If biased, is that bias noted? No bias noted, but sources are limited.

Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented? More of an American viewpoint. Could benefit from more international/global perspective.

Check a few citations. Do the links work? Is there any close paraphrasing or plagiarism in the article? One is an informational website. One focuses on parents with DM. One reference is just a link to the MESH term in the library of Medicine. Last is about intrauterine resuscitation.

Is any information out of date? Is anything missing that could be added? Not out of date.

Which sections will you prioritize? Definitions/Abstract Signs and symptoms causes/mechanism diagnosis prevention treatment prognosis epi history society and culture special populations

What resources do you intend to look up, and when? reviews, secondary sources (books, national body guidelines/statements)

How will you decide what things (signs, symptoms, side-effects, etc.) to explicitly include? To explicitly exclude? Focus on most relevant to concerned patients. Will you also embed additional links to other Wiki pages? Yes, when relevant and definitions/pages exist

How will you ensure you avoid "doctor-speak" and not use jargon? Hemingway editor

Overall organization

What will you add? Definitions/Abstract Prevention Pictures

What will you remove? Nothing, yet.

What will you augment? Signs and symptoms Causes/mechanism Treatment

What will you decrease coverage of? Nothing, yet.

Summary Paragraph Modification

[edit]

Recommend changing the title to "Non-reassuring fetal status" and referencing the previous language in your first paragraph, "Non-reassuring fetal status (previously referred to as fetal distress)...." and have fetal distress redirect to this article Reddiamond115 (talk) 18:23, 13 September 2021 (UTC)Reddiamond115[reply]

Causes

[edit]

Recommend restructure the causes to allow all the causes with texts on top and the causes without descriptive text after it. Lifealert23 (talk) 18:26, 13 September 2021 (UTC) \[reply]

New Title Redirect

[edit]

The group discussed updating the name from fetal distress to the more up to date term used to describe the condition. I would recommend if doing that to add a redirect from the old term so people can find the article using either term. Drgojo (talk) 18:26, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
