Ferrybank Kilkenny

[edit]

Ferrybank has a school run by Kilkenny Carlow education training board this school is a Kilkenny school and is known as one Waterford has Nothing to do with ferrybank and Kilkenny deserves full jurisdiction 2A01:B340:85:330F:F90A:8AF1:1825:FD37 (talk) 19:54, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. And welcome. A few notes:
  1. The subject of this article is Ferrybank, the suburb/village. Not the school. If a school in the area (whether within County Killkenny or County Waterford or otherwise) happens to fall within the governance of Killkenny Carlow ETB, then that's fine. But immaterial. And cannot be read as meaning that the entire suburb/village somehow lies within County Killkenny.
  2. The sources clearly confirm that, while subject to discussion from time to time, and though some newer housing estates surrounding Ferrybank are within County Kilkenny, the bulk of the older/central part of Ferrybank lies within the Waterford local authority area. The governance of a single school doesn't "override" or determine the areas of local authority governance.
  3. Your edits broke an image, several links (including piping text which linked County Kilkenny to the article on County Waterford - like this [[County Waterford|County Kilkenny]]), and were generally non-constructive dis-improvements.

Hi. I note that some anon editors continue to make related changes, contrary to the references and anything sensible. Indicating that Ferrybank is a "suburb of Kilkenny City" (just plain silly given that Kilkenny city is 50km away) or that "all of Ferrybank exists in County Kilkenny" (also contrary to reality and refs). If any editors reasonably believe that any boundary questions have been settled, and have refs to support, then happy to discuss. Otherwise these edits are just childishly disruptive.
