Keep not merge was the consensus
[edit]The AFD has ended with the overwhelming majority of people saying keep. So I undid the redirect, and put the article back the way it was. Dream Focus 11:17, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- The admin closed it as "no consensus" and said that most comments favored a merger, so I've redirected the article to the film article's "Impact" section with all the good stuff and none of the bad stuff. —Erik (talk • contrib) 14:10, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- I looked through it, and I see very few people mentioning merge at all. Tag it for a merge discussion if you want, and discuss it. The majority of people, said KEEP. Dream Focus 15:48, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- The AfD is largely obsolete, the article is nothing like what it was. The serious content is already at the main article, this one is superfluous. Mintrick (talk) 16:00, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- I started a discussion to merge at Talk:Ferris Bueller's Day Off#Requested merge. —Erik (talk • contrib) 16:02, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Keep not merge was not the consensus (what with there being no consensus)
[edit]To quote the closing admin, Sandstein [1]
The result was no consensus. The article was rewritten during the discussion, leaving the nomination and the arguments for deletion mostly moot, and since then, most comments have favored a merger, which I suggest should be discussed on the article talk page now.
Merging, redirecting etc are all normal editing policies. A "no consensus" decision (which this was, in case anyone missed that) does not mean "keep forever without considering the content of this or any related article ever again".
Did I mention that there was no consensus? pablohablo. 19:30, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- The above discussion was just one editor's opinion about the closing decision. Per the admin's suggestion, merging is being discussed at Talk:Ferris Bueller's Day Off#Requested merge. —Erik (talk • contrib) 20:08, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
