re batgate
[edit]An editor is insisting here that an incident where somebody was attacked by bat-wielding thugs be included in the article. I'm not seeing this as a worthwhile addition.
Leaving aside the question of whether the source is reliable and unbiased... I mean, in a given decade, most inhabited localities will have a few fatal accidents, some assaults, maybe a murder or two or a bank robbery, a plethora of various disturbances of the peace and so forth. Nobody even died in this incident; how notable is that? If we include incidents like this for all towns, we become more like a police blotter and less like a reference work providing a broad overview of the history of a locality.
So I'm not seeing the need for adding this information, and an reverting the edit pending discussion. Herostratus (talk) 00:51, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
=Google map
[edit]This shows the boundaries of Fernley as vast, with many unincorporated patches. It is nothing like the map here. Is there some explanation? 50.20.34.66 (talk) 17:19, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
