Bristol was not in the County of Gloucestershire in 1957, and had not been for several centuries previously, neither has it been since. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.105.240.222 (talk) 15:54, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Parts of Bristol were in Glos before Avon was created in 1970s. Parts of Bristol are now in South Glos —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.0.28.252 (talk) 09:21, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed "admitted" to "relates". I don't think victims need "admit to" having been raped. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.191.168.13 (talk) 04:44, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Weight Loss

[edit]

The Weight Loss section may need looking at a bit more carefully. While Gastric Band surgery is an aid to weight loss, you still have to diet - if you don't it will not work. It is not a guaranteed solution and in fact, some 30% of people do not lose weight. Currently the section reads as if the operation is the sole reason why she lost weight. That is medically not possible and her weight loss will have been because of the dieting and exercise aided by the band.Joss (talk) 08:11, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ealing

[edit]

The statement that Britton hails from Ealing is unsourced. On tonight's episode of Fifteen to One, it was announced; unfortunately, I don't know how to source a TV episode. Could someone help with that?--Launchballer 20:51, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Fern Britton/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

at end of section, article says, 'many people find them amusing, as intended'. Does this come under the use of weasel words?

Query about the first sentence

[edit]

The first sentence says that Britton is a television presenter, and then goes on to say that she is best known for her work presenting for the BBC and ITV. I am wondering whether the final part of the sentence is superfluous, as if some is a television presenter, this would be likely. I am aware that there are channels that are not BBC or ITV, such as Yesterday or Dave, but since the BBC channels and ITV have more viewers, I still think that the first sentence may need to be more specific. Sorry if I sound a bit dogmatic here - this is just a suggestion.Vorbee (talk) 19:04, 29 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
