[edit]fermentation vessel is the three-piece fermentation lock. Older models contain three bulbous chambers allowing for a broader range of pressure equalization.
There are two pictures, one of which appears to be the 'older model' with two sets of three bulbs.
It's not clear which is which, nor how having three chambers allows for a broader range of pressure equalization.

It is unclear whether the available phrases are "fermentation lock" and "fermenation airlock", or "fermentation lock" and "airlock". There is also a repetition of the the fact that each version is available. nhinchey (talk) 16:44, 29 June 2008 (UTC) 29.July.2008

Which pressure has to be exceeded?
[edit]The article states "When the pressure of the gas inside the fermentation vessel exceeds the prevailing atmospheric pressure the gas will push its way through the water as individual bubbles into the outside air." I'm not sure that's accurate. It seems to me that the pressure inside the fermentation vessel needs to exceed the water pressure at the bottom of the fermentation lock, right? I've made beer and wine always successfully as an amateur for over 35 years. This article is substantially accurate. I've also been on a tour around a commercial winery in Italy (Montepulciano) where I clearly saw that they use exactly the same device, just a bit bigger than the ones pictured.
