[edit]- Lead
- Merge the second par with one of the other two.
- Fixed by J.L.W.S. The Special One – thanks! — Cheers, JackLee 07:57, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- Career
- "Nonetheless, that month she achieved a silver medal in the singles at the ITTF Pro Tour Chinese Taipei Open, her compatriot Li Jiawei taking the gold." Needs a re-write because there are two main verbs in the sentence at the moment. Did she lose to Jiawei in the final, or is it a round robin tournament?
- Fixed: Jiawei beat her in the final. — Cheers, JackLee 07:57, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think you need to cite the full set-by-set score, unless the score is particularly notable.
- OK, fixed. Have left the last set of scores in place to show how closely fought the match was. — Cheers, JackLee 07:57, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- That's absolutely fine. It is actually a neat example of when a scoreline is notable or adds value. Peanut4 (talk) 22:59, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

- "This is the first time Singapore has won an Olympic medal since Singapore's independence in 1965. The medal comes 48 years after Tan Howe Liang won the country's first medal, a silver in weightlifting in the lightweight category at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome." Not sure if the tense is right. While this may have been written in the present tense at the time, it may be best in the past tense.
- Fixed. — Cheers, JackLee 07:57, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- General
- Numerals and units should be broken by a non-breaking space. E.g. 48 years.
- Fixed: Overlooked the fact that the "year" is also a unit of measurement! — Cheers, JackLee 07:57, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
Only a couple of things to do. It's short but it meets most of the GA criteria. So I'll put it on hold for the time being. Peanut4 (talk) 23:13, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- I am not the primary contributor (Jacklee is), but I made several slight changes to the lead in an attempt to address your concerns. What do you think of the new lead? By the way, Jacklee, you deserve a barnstar for writing articles about our Olympic heroes, namely Tao Li and our women's table tennis team. Perhaps, in the future, you could consider writing a couple of GAs about our local-born athletes as well (I plan to write a couple of GAs about our international footballers later in the year). --J.L.W.S. - Hi, Peanut4, thanks for reviewing this article. (Have you been dealing with a lot of Olympic-related articles, I wonder?) Thanks to you, J.L.W.S., as well – your help is most welcome. My editing is mostly inspired by what I read in the newspapers, and at the moment I have to say there hasn't been a huge amount of information in them about local-born sportspeople! — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 07:57, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- Not done many Olympics reviews. I just review articles that I find accessible, and yours certainly are that - a pleasure to read. And here's another example. Obviously it's on the short side but I expect her career is in its infancy. Good luck with future improvements.

- Thanks very much for your kind comments and for passing the article. It's been interesting working on it and the other related ones – my little contribution towards Singapore's Olympic endeavours. — Cheers, JackLee –talk– 19:53, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
