Merger proposal
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result was merge into Strat Plus. -- Nettrom (talk) 16:12, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Rather than have three small pages about these guitar models I suggest we merge them into one. Part of the reason for this is that Strat Plus is also the name of a series of guitars, of which the Strat Plus and Strat Ultra were the two models. Thus the Strat Plus article can be used for all, and we can (at some point) end up with one article of better quality. Nettrom (talk) 16:30, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- As it seems I'm the only one who'd care about the merger, I'll go ahead with it. Nettrom (talk) 16:12, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Humbucker or no humbucker
[edit]I reverted the edit that used the word "humbucker" to describe the bridge pickups of the Strat Ultra, but am open to discuss whether or not this is the right designation to use. In my opinion a humbucker is an integral two-coil design (having a common baseplate), while in the Strat Ultra it's two separate single coil pickups. The description in the text about the guitar points out that these two are wired to work similar to a humbucker, though. Feel free to chime in with opinions. - I agree, the strat plus deluxe ultra has two individual single coil pickups, side by side in the bridge position, with a separate toggle switch for them mounted between the tone controls.

- Also, Many, but not all of the Deluxe models had a pearloid pickguard. The early models, like from 1987 through 1990/91 came with a plain white pickguard. Let's fix that. -professorstein
