Census data
[edit]It's too bad that Wikipedia's treatment of small communities like this is so pervasive and ingrained. Felton is not primarily a CDP. It has an awareness of itself as a community that has nothing to do with what the Census Bureau thinks. So do most such places WP describes primarily as CDPs. It's lazy, and does these communities a disservice.
But, if we are to assign such great moment to what a single bureau of the Federal government thinks for how to define small towns on the other side of the country from Washington, we can at least include all the relevant data. If, from 2000 to 2010, the population nearly quadrupled but the population density decreased, clearly the borders of the CDP must have been enlarged to include surrounding, less densely populated areas. Yet the article carefully avoids any mention of that.
But that just highlights my point. Were those surrounding areas somehow not part of Felton before, but now by the stroke of a Washington bureaucrat's pen they suddenly are? Absurd. 192.35.35.36 (talk) 21:30, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
