The result of the move request was: no consensus. Surname was discovered to have a wide range of spellings, so "Liberty" isn't necessarily wrong. I don't see any consensus likely to arise on which spelling is better. (non-admin closure) — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 17:01, 19 June 2022 (UTC)
Felix Liberty → Felix Lebarty – surname of artist is spelled wrong. Here are a few independent reliable sources (apple.com, allmusic.com, spotify.com etc.) that spell his surnname correctly as Lebarty: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. 77.7.98.186 (talk) 15:03, 4 June 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. - A random Google search suggests that the current name is the common name. ─ The Aafī on Mobile (talk) 16:31, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: "random google search" is not a reliable source, neither does it fulfill Wikipedia's content guidelines of WP:BLP and WP:TITLE which, amongst others, stipulate that "Generally, article titles are based on what the subject is called in reliable sources". Those sources which use the erroneous surname "Liberty" are merely mirroring the erroneous Wikipedia article. Felix Lebarty, as a recording artist, is listed as "Felix Lebarty" in scores of reliable sources, like allmusic.com, apple.com, spotify.com etc. Furthermore, the official albums of Lebarty all spell his surname correctly as "Lebarty". Check here for the album covers: 1, 2, 3, 4.
To city "random google search" as a reason to contest a valid article title rename request, while at the same time ignoring the reliable sources which were provided in the rename request, merely proves that Editor AafiOnMobile has "read and interpreted primary source material for themselves", and his contest reason is therefore flawed as it is not grounded in Wikipedia's content guidelines and policies. 77.7.98.186 (talk) 17:38, 4 June 2022 (UTC)- One of the ways to ascertain the common name is to see how frequently/significantly is a specific name used for any subject throughout a plethora of sources. In this case, it is the current name, and not the one you're suggesting. Primary sources have nothing to do with WP:COMMONNAME. ─ The Aafī on Mobile (talk) 17:59, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- Sources like Apple.com, Spotify and Deezer are affiliated and promotional, not independent. They just present whatever they are given by the publisher of the music. The sources cited in the article primarily use "Liberty". One of them uses "Libarty", but none of them use "Lebarty". (There was one that did use "Lebarty", but the site was infected by malware so I removed the citation.) — BarrelProof (talk) 18:34, 5 June 2022 (UTC)
