Eschatology

[edit]

Prior to the 1917 October Revolution "Mariavites had been scared by the imminent arrival of the Antichrist." Kozłowska "was to accommodate him with a virgin birth, but a change of plans occurred in the realm of Providence, and" Kozłowska "was saved from this ordeal." "the whole incident foreshadowed other warnings of apocalyptic character, which Kowalski would now and again insert into the commentary on his version of the Old Testament."[1]

Notes

[edit]
  1. ^ Kozłowska used the Polish verbal noun zrozumienie (an understanding or a comprehension) to describe her experience.[8][9] Each zrozumienie was not a physical apparition according to Kowalski but was a visio intellectualis (Latin for intellectual vision).[10] Kowalski also used the term when he referred to his experiences. Like neo-Platonic philosophers, Augustine of Hippo categorized vision, as a metaphor of cognition, into three types: visio corporalis, through the natural physical senses; visio intellectualis, through supernatural transpersonal intellect; and visio spiritualis, through natural mental imagination.[11] religious ecstasy[12]
