I will also claim this one for review, similar to another song review I completed regarding Melanie B (or Mel B). I will have this done by today, August 31. Adog (Talk・Cont) 03:42, 31 August 2023 (UTC)

Prose
[edit]Lead
[edit]"Feels So Good" is a song by English singer Melanie B, from her debut solo studio album Hot (2000).
Likely does not need the comma pause here.- "Feels So Good" is a pop and R&B song which lyrically deals about being content in love. may read better as
"Feels So Good" is a pop and R&B song that lyrically deals with being content in love.
"Feels So Good" received positive reviews from music critics, with Attitude's Nick Levine describing it as Melanie B's signature song from her solo career, although Nigel Parker from BBC Music criticized its length.
I am not sure if picking two reviews here is the best for the lead, as it gives more credit to these two writers/reviewers/authors rather than highlighting the whole with the simple overview. It may discredit or lessen the other review's pull.
Background and composition

- I feel like the quote: ... while also describing the song's writing process, "I just wrote about a really special love, even though I didn't have that then!" could be paraphrased as it does not add much, is a bit confusing coming from Mel B, and can reduce quoting in this paragraph. Maybe
while also describing the song, Melanie B wrote about a special affection that was "very ideal ...

Omit "both" as an extra word here.
Promotion
[edit]The video starts out with Melanie B driving her car down a road singing the intro and scenes of a house with a couple kissing.
Omit "out" as extra word, comma before "singing" for needed pause. As the song progresses, she walks through the house singing the song with scenes of three couples kissing and then an unseen blinding light appears and the woman in each couple knock something over
reads awkwardly with the two "and"s as a run-on sentence would. I would rephrase this sentence or break it up, likely before the unseen light:couples kissing. Then, an unseen blinding light appears, and the women ...
- Sub note to the above, "the woman in each couple knock something over" is awkward. Does this imply a bedroom act? Or maybe the women's setting in different parts of the house? I have not watched the music video as of writing, so this is unclear.

The first read and skim-through good. Onto spot checks and additional write-ups. Adog (Talk・Cont) 12:33, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
Additional comments or concerns
[edit]- MOS:DUPLINKs "BBC Music", "UK Dance" in "Reception".
"It was released by Virgin Records on 19 February 2001 in the United Kingdom", as per other reviews so far (I would just ask for an explanation to whichever one you get to first), not sure if the source attached states such since the magazine is published before its release date and it does not explicitly mention a date of release.
*"very happy, very uplifting as opposed to the first single which was very controversial" should be double quotes, quoted from a quote using {{" '}} {{' "}} templates.
- "She also justified the single's choice, 'This time of the year is a bit of a depressing time...and I wanted to bring something out that was uplifting and this song does it for me so hopefully it'll do it for everyone else'" is not supported by this source. Because I reviewed the other single about Mel B., maybe there was a source lost in translation here between the two articles?
*"I'm gonna get all soft and smoocheh" Another instance of quote in quote.
- "The song also features chants of "oh yeah" in its chorus,[9] as well as Melanie B screaming "Yippee!" in the background throughout the song.[8]" Is there a reason for this passage's inclusion? I am not sure it adds to the composition explanation here.
- "Oh yeah" removed, but I'm keeping "yipeee" as it was referred by other reviewers so I think it's relevant Alex reach me! 02:32, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
*"You do feel something because you've got a stranger's lips on your lips but the crew's there so you can't really get off on it!" Quote in quote.
- "The video starts out with Melanie B driving her car down a road singing the intro and scenes of a house with a couple kissing. The first chorus starts as the singer gets out of her car. As the song progresses, she walks through the house singing the song with scenes of three couples kissing and then an unseen blinding light appears and the woman in each couple knock something over (e.i. a glass of wine, a bowl of doughnuts, a beer bottle). The video ends with Melanie B and her boyfriend kissing on a bed and a bright light flashing." is not sourced. Needs a citation here.
- It doesn't as per MOS:FILMPLOT Alex reach me! 02:32, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
Well written + verifiability
[edit]The article is well written with some grammar, sentence structure, or quoting issues. The article follows the general manual of style for singles and songs, with one issue regarding duplinks. The article has a list of reliable sources, pulling from a variety of sources. The article has some spot check issues worth addressing above, and is missing a citation for a part of a paragraph. Earwig here is all clear, with common words or quotes highlighted against close paraphrasing, plagiarism, or potential copyright. All good. Adog (Talk・Cont) 13:02, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
Broadness + focus + neutral
[edit]The article has a broad scope on the subject material, with a material focus on its contents. The article is neutral, without any outstanding issues here with the exception of the lead and part of a sentence in "Reception". Adog (Talk・Cont) 13:02, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
Images + stability
[edit]Thre article's one image is relevant towards the subject matter, with its paperwork in order. The article is stable, with no active or ongoing edit conflicts or disputes. Adog (Talk・Cont) 12:33, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
