Comma in the name
[edit]I am curious why a comma was added to the name? When I wrote the article I researched thouroghly and the BOP website does not list a comma there. Sometimes "Federal Correctional Institution Sheridan, Oregon", but never after the Institution. I know the Wikipedia list shows commas there, but the BOP does not and a Wikipedia list would be subserviant to the official website of the place. Frankly the list is incorrect and needs to be corrected for all the prisons there. If we are going of the naming conventions then really it should be FCI Sheridan as that is how it is mainly listed on the BOP site and how it is handled in the media. But rarely where the comma is now. So why was it changed? Aboutmovies 02:22, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- To me, and I'm guessing for others, it just seemed odd that Sheridan would be the only one without the comma. Now, that doesn't mean that some discussion cannot be had to come up with a better naming system. I would support just about anything, if it were uniform. Neonblak 14:43, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Going from my research I would propose FCI Sheridan. FDC XXXX, etc. That is how the BOP refers to these places the most online. But if not that then the next most appears to be "Federal Corrections Institute Sheridan, Oregon". What does your research show? Aboutmovies 17:11, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- I would go with Federal Correctional Institution Sheridan, Oregon. That's how the BOP refers to it, so that's probably the best way to go, the most encyclopedic. Neonblak 18:57, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Controversies
[edit]To those who want to expand this article, please read WP:WWIN and WP:OR and WP:RS before adding anymore unsourced info. It will simply be removed to this page, especially if it is relating to a person per WP:BLP.
- In the spring of 1999 Warden Crabtree was charged with 12-15 counts of unfair labor discrimination by the FCI Sheridan labor union.[citation needed] Four lieutenants were dismissed. Training center personnel Rick Hearnes, Bill Lane, and personnel employee Wanda Foster were directly involved with discrimination of that particular administration.[citation needed]
- citations required in controversies and former inmates sections are not found in articles but are known pieces of information from a prior employee of Sheridan

Ari additions
[edit]Actually, the new info is sourced from a discussion forum. Please see WP:RS as to why these should not be used, and [[WP:BLP] as to why the info needs to be removed, as it pertains to a living person. If you have reliable sources for the new info, then by all means add the info, or maybe start an article on him, leaving only the info about his incarceration at this prison in this article. Other Notable Inmates
[edit]Other notable inmates who have resided at FCI Sheridan are Jeffrey R. MacDonald, "the Green Beret Killer", who was there from approximately 1993 to 1998, and Sal Reale, a Gambino crime family associate reputed to have been John Gotti's man at Kennedy Airport. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.148.51.150 (talk) 02:18, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

[edit]I don't believe that a pornstar should be included in the Notable Inmates section. Being a pornstar does not make one notable in my opinion. MDEVER802 (talk) 02:52, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

[edit]I have not found any information indicating that this inmate was ever at FCI Sheridan. His wikipedia article says he was at USP Lompoc and FCI La Tuna. MDEVER802 (talk) 03:31, 7 January 2013 (UTC)

Current Inmates
[edit]Why are all of the "current" inmates now somewhere else? Wouldn't that make them former inmates, by definition? BrianWilloughby (talk) 00:26, 11 November 2021 (UTC)
