Who promulgates
[edit]The article doesn't state who the regulations are promulgated by...although neither does http://www.acquisition.gov (or, if it does, it isn't very clear.) Paul 00:46, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
The FAR is governed and updated by three agencies mentioned in the article "It is prepared, issued, and maintained jointly by the Secretary of Defense, the Administrator of General Services, and the Administrator, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (48 CFR 1.103)." (See 2nd paragraph)
I think the FAR should be moved to Government Contracts as its own section.
- I would disagree. While the FAR are a subset of Government Contracts, the FAR are sufficiently broad in detail that it would overwhelm the Government Contract article. It would be like putting all of the USA article as a subsection of the article on North America.ThreeE 02:30, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
Don't understand
[edit]I don't have any idea what is being said in this article. Can this be restated in layman's terms? Thanks. 98.202.38.225 (talk) 20:16, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- I've added a one line intro to give some context. - Rod57 (talk) 19:30, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
Any relation to 'program of record' ?
[edit]We may need a program of record to clarify. Many US articles use "Program of Record" but what are they ? - Rod57 (talk) 19:32, 13 July 2020 (UTC)
Alternatives - such as Other Transaction Authority
[edit]Agencies can sometimes use alternative less-bureaucratic processes : eg NASA have used Other Transaction Authority for Commercial Resupply Services/COTS and Commercial Crew, DARPA used for SC-21 (United States), SeaBees/CIA used, Defense Innovation Unit used, used for XM395 Precision Guided Mortar Munition, and Army used for LAV-25 replacement. Could mention in this article, eg. so they could be compared. - Rod57 (talk) 19:22, 2 November 2021 (UTC)
- I have added a section on Other Transaction Authority with a brief discussion. Feel free to expand. A dedicated article may be helpful to provide an in-depth discussion of the statutes for each of the 11 agencies that were granted the authority. Thank you.
