Some of the writing here needs considerable work. The second movement in particular being noted as "the saddest" movement is almost cringe-worthy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.48.64.192 (talk) 23:38, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
gah, tried to write this but it was lost. Explanation for rerouting this to F_aus_W rather than F_aus_W(opus39)etc etc is under Wikipedia:Naming conventions which gives rules, guidelines, etc for how little but also how much to list in the title. Can't decide everything from conventions, but helpful. Schissel : bowl listen 02:50, Jun 10, 2005 (UTC)
In the Form section: (some musicologists have remarked that Schumann's metronome was calibrated such that it went faster than it should have, due to extreme tempi such as this one): I didn't change the article because I fear someone, meaning well, will revert it back to the original. Using a little logic and a pianist's grasp of the music and the metronome, the musicologists must mean that Schumann's metronome was possibly calibrated to run SLOWER than it should have. This would account for the possibly higher MM indications in his scores that are thought to be too fast. If a metronome is set at MM = 100, but is running SLOWER than 100, then you would move the weight to a faster setting in order to get something close to the desired count of 100. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.229.83.119 (talk) 23:33, 14 November 2013 (UTC) User: emdrgreg@gmail.com
