Question
[edit]Is it a suburb or a city?
- What is the difference? It is a city with a city council, police force, etc but is still considered as suburb of Detroit (as is most/all of Oakland County) GuyFromChicago 23:39, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Notable residents
[edit]- These residents are notable in whose opinion? THE AMERICAN METROSEXUAL 19:10, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- If they have a wikipedia article that is not deletable, it seems self-evident. older ≠ wiser 19:32, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
- That means they're notable in themselves. How are they notable to the subject? THE AMERICAN METROSEXUAL 06:34, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- That's sophistry. Notable in the context of a heading such as "Notable residents of Foo" applies to the residents, not the place. The only criteria applicable to the place is that the persons have had some verifiable residence in the place. older ≠ wiser 12:15, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- Read why the "notable roles" field was removed from the Actor infobox and I think you'll understand where I'm coming from. THE AMERICAN METROSEXUAL 20:00, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- I think I understand where you're coming from (you're not the first to take issue with such sections in community articles), but the context with that infobox is quite different. While I personally would not be opposed to including some sort list of notable roles in such an infobox on actors, but in that case, the criteria for what is a notable role is particularly significant. Choosing some roles as being more significant than others requires editorial judgement, something for which maintaining NPOV (not to mention verifiability) is very problematic. When dealing with a community like Farmington Hills, it is quite feasible to include every person associated with that community for which a Wikipedia article exists. For larger cities, such a list would become unwieldy, so some additional criteria would be required. But for the vast majority of communities this is not an issue. older ≠ wiser 20:47, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

No Website
[edit]This municipality does not have a website. I find that worth noting in the article. Others might disagree. PaulinSaudi (talk) 09:53, 4 July 2022 (UTC)
- What would you call this, then?

- Looks like a website to me. It's actually directly linked in the article, too. CBessert (talk) 06:36, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
