Origin of the name
[edit]"The Farley family name is an anglicised form of the Old Irish family names of Ó Faircheallaigh and Ó Fearghail, hailing from County Cavan and County Longford respectively. The English Domesday Book lists Farley settlements in Hampshire and Suffolk, and a Farleigh settlement in Somerset, which became Farleigh Hungerford."
The Domesday Book was compiled in 1086. The Anglo-Norman invasion of Ireland began in 1169. It is beyond implausible that the English placenames derived from the Irish surname. Narky Blert (talk) 04:59, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
