Redirect
[edit]i clicked to this page from Caryl Churchill's page. She wrote a play called "Far Away", and when i clicked the link, i came here. as you can no doubt see, this page is not for Caryl Churchill's play. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 169.226.162.38 (talk • contribs) .
- That is bound to happen. Still, disambiguation links are hard to trap when they are linked to articles, since we need human intervention to know if it is linked to the correct article. -- ReyBrujo 03:58, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Disambiguation
[edit]Today, I did the following, in order to properly disambiguate the page:
- Moved this page from Far Away to Far Away (Ayumi Hamasaki song).
- Moved Far Away (song) to Far Away (Nickelback song).
- Changed the redirect created from the move of the original Far Away (now Far Away (Ayumi Hamasaki song) page to point to Far Away (Nickelback song).
- Added {{Redirect}} to the top of Far Away (Nickelback song).
- Created Far Away (disambiguation) to disambiguate between these two, and future songs called "Far Away".
- Cleaned up all double-redirects made by my actions.
- Noted this on all talk pages and watched all pages.
I did this because I believe that the song by Nickelback is better-known than the one by Ayumi Hamasaki. This is so because the Nickelback song was on the charts in the UK, US, Australia and Canada, and in the top ten in most of those. By comparison, the Ayumi Hamasaki song was only popular in Japan, during 2000. Please let me know on my talk page or one of these talk pages if you disagree, and feel free to make the redirect Far Away point to Far Away (disambiguation). Fair use rationale for Image:Faraway2.PNG
[edit]Image:Faraway2.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Orphaned references in Far Away (Ayumi Hamasaki song)
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Far Away (Ayumi Hamasaki song)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 05:23, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I am Carbrera, and I'll be reviewing this article for possible good article submission.
Full review coming very soon. Carbrera (talk) 23:28, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
Infobox
[edit]- You could/should provide a link to "Ayumi Hamasaki" where it says "Artist = ..." as you did on the article for "Seasons"; other than that the infobox is good
Lead
[edit]Paragraph 1
[edit]- Nothing
Paragraph 2
[edit]- It's called a "Japanese pop song" here, but in the infobox, it is called a "J-pop song"; I don't care which one is used, but both have separate links so you should make the linking and articles consistent; see what I mean?
- You can remove the ", as of today" part; it's unnecessary
Paragraph 3
[edit]- "and leads on from the video of..." → "and serves as a sequel to the video for..."
- You could list some of the concert tours that she included it on since the ending sentence seems a bit plain
Background and release
[edit]Paragraph 1
[edit]- I think I mentioned this previously, but I would only state "Japanese businessman" if he was an extremely prominent and well-known businessman; otherwise, I would just list him as a producer
- "Kikuchi's final collaboration..." → "Kikuchi's final collaborations..."
- I know this is true, but the final sentence needs a source
Paragraph 2
[edit]- "the singles were released as a DVD single and VHS." → "the singles were released as DVD singles and on VHS."
- "VHS. It included the..." → VHS; it included the..."
- You don't have to mention that "the song's title" is present on the cover; it's unnecessary
Composition
[edit]- "With this, "Vogue"..." → "Following the same theme, "Vogue"..."
- "in any of her previous lyrics." → "on any of her previous work."
Critical response
[edit]- Add generally before "favourable" please
- Italicize "AllMusic" please
- "complimented Hamasaki's song writing. He compared the song..." → "complimented Hamasaki's songwriting; he compared the song..." (Note: there are multiple changes suggested here)
- "elements in the song." → "topics in the song."
- "submitted their votes.[13] As a result,..." → "submitted their votes;[13] as a result,..."
Commercial performance
[edit]- "two on the Oricon Singles Chart.[14] It lasted for..." → "two on the Oricon Singles Chart;[14] it lasted for..."
- "as of today, the song is..." → "the song is currently..."
- "TBS Count Down TV Chart.[20] It stayed there..." → "TBS Count Down TV chart;[20] it stayed there..." (Note: there are multiple changes suggested here)
Music video
[edit]Paragraph 1
[edit]- "out take" → "outtake"
- No other mistakes found here! :)
Synopsis
[edit]- All good as well!
Live performances and other appearances
[edit]Paragraph 1
[edit]- Remove "which are" before "A Best (2002), A..." please
Paragraph 2
[edit]- "several remix albums by Hamasaki. The list is: the..." → "several remix albums by Hamasaki, including the..."
- Remove the comma after "orchestral acoustic remix" and in the same sentence, change "was" to "were"
Track listing
[edit]- Digital download is spelt incorrectly as "Digital dowload"
Personnel
[edit]- Please change section title "Credits and personnel"
- Add a colspan so the text provided is more condensed please
References
[edit]- In references [14]-[15], "Oricon" is italicized, but in references [16]-[18], they are not? Please be precise and either italicize all of them or none of them; from the looks of it they should all be italicized so please do that, thank you
- Double check that all refs don't link to the same thing more than once, from what I saw–it looks good
- [45] - Provide a link for "iTunes Store" please
End of GA Review:
[edit]Another very good article! Some minor changes and then a very likely pass. Thanks again! Carbrera (talk) 04:22, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Carbrera: Done and dusted! Regarding your italicize the AllMusic link; based on previous reviews of other Users, apparently since its not a journal or printed article, it doesn't have to be italicized (you can argue that, I don't personally know). CaliforniaDreamsFan (talk · contribs} 03:11, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
- @CaliforniaDreamsFan: I realized that myself today when creating an article You Don't Know Anything, so yes you are correct. Great work by the way! Definitely GA worthy. With each article you expand, they keep getting better and better! I look forward to reviewing more from you. Thanks, Carbrera (talk) 03:14, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
