There is no such thing as "kinopoisk award", why would you site it as an example? FantLab's Book of the year is an official literary award. There are no informational pages about this award in English, and the purpose of this wikipedia page is to inform non-russian speakers about this award origins and selection without making them read extensive information about Fantlab site. As of today wikipedia's FantLab's Book of the Year Award page is the only one translated and mapped to authors page available across the globe. yes its awarded by readers and not a panel of juror's, it is not based on readers ratings, but by voting syste. Award is popular with Russian readers, and prestigious enough for publishers and authors to note the nomination/wins on their sites. It is also an online magazine published on the Internet through bulletin board system. this system includes news, announcements and blogs. Authors publish their works through blogs http://fantlab.ru/blogs. Subscribers of the blogs are notified of new articles. All specialty blog 'Columns" are administered by an individual editor panel. If you look at the webzine definition, you will see that it defines Fantlab to the letter.
The rest of the site can be used to look up editions, book illustrations and artwork, info, reviews and book ratings. Award is given to the literary works published/translated within 1 calendar year based on the number of votes cast towards the nominees, this Russian award is equivalent to the awards given by sfsite.com, locus, asimov and goodreads.
