Requested move
[edit]
It was proposed in this section that Familial exudative vitreoretinopathy be renamed and moved to Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy (FEVR).

Exudative vitreoretinopathy → Familial Exudative Vitreoretinopathy (FEVR) – FEVR (short for Familial Exudative Vitreo-Retinopathy) is the commonly used term for this disease among the doctors treating it. Making this change will enable patients and families in particular to better locate more information on this disease, particularly allowing a search on "FEVR" to bring it up. - Done, seems pretty uncontroversial to me. Graham87 04:12, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
Janeannyoung (talk) 22:29, 28 October 2016 (UTC) Hello All, My name is Jane Young and I am the founder of FEVR.NET. I have been making updates to this, "Article" My last updates which included adding section titles for a Medical Article in accordance with Wikipedia's, "Medical Article," guidelines. Does anyone know what happened to my last edit?? It is my understanding that I edit the article in real time. It is my understanding then experts can add or edit material under each Section heading. The last edit seems to have disappeared. If no one knows I guess I will do it over and this time keep a copy. Thanks All
- I took some of it out because it didn't belong. We usually don't publish the outline of an article. For example, there was a section on diagnosis that just said "How FEVR is diagnosed." We wouldn't put that in the article. We would wait until we had some sourced info on diagnosis, then we would create a section called diagnosis and actually describe (with the WP:MEDRS sources) how it is diagnosed. That way, whatever a reader sees is actual medical information and not just our plans for future expansion of the article. Am I explaining this okay? EricEnfermero (Talk) 01:12, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
Janeannyoung (talk) 01:19, 29 October 2016 (UTC) Hello All interested in this article. Here are my suggested headdings for this article which follow Wk Medical Article Guidelines.
This article has no headings which a MEDICAL ARTICLE should contain. Here are the suggested headings set forth by Wikipedia Guidelines. 5.1 Diseases or disorders or syndromes[edit] Clinical articles can achieve a level of consistency by limiting their top-level headers to those specified below. However, the spectrum of medical conditions is huge, including infectious and genetic diseases, chronic and acute illness, the life-threatening and the inconvenient. Some sections will necessarily be absent or may be better merged, especially if the article is not (yet) fully comprehensive. A disease that is now only of historical significance may benefit from having its History section moved towards the top. Establishing the forms of the disease (Classification) can be an important first section. However, if such classification depends heavily on understanding the etiology, pathogenesis or symptoms, then that section may be better moved to later in the article. If a disease is incurable, then the Prognosis section can be moved up, and a section called Management is more appropriate than Treatment..."

Your thoughts are appreciated
- I appreciate your thoughts as well. By focusing on adding sourced content to the article, you'll quickly discover which headings you need, or which ones can be left out. There's just not enough content to support a large number of sections at this point; it reads better without being all broken up. The suggested categories would probably be overkill; for example, counseling is something that a FEVR family might seek out, but FEVR isn't a type of counseling or a topic that would be directly related to counseling. Diseases would also not be necessary, for example, because there is a more appropriate subcategory: Diseases of the eye and adnexa. EricEnfermero (Talk) 01:48, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
Just Read Your Responce
[edit]Janeannyoung (talk) 01:49, 29 October 2016 (UTC) OK, you don't want to, "Publish" until the section is fully written. I get that but an OUTLINE must be written before I fill in the sections. What is currently published is not a Medical Article when it only contains a paragraph and a FEVR Gene Table. Take a look at the above proposed headings for a full article on FEVR and comment only on the OUTLINE Topics as it pertains to the flow and completeness of a FEVR article if the topics are filled in. O' STUB - I get it now
[edit]Janeannyoung (talk) 15:44, 29 October 2016 (UTC) O', "STUB" as in just what I was saying. This is not an, "ARTICLE," yet. Went to your Wiki Projects site and you mentioned uploading pictures to the free group Wiki list. Are you saying if I upload a picture here in this article it WILL NOT appears free database.
Sorry, did not know adding heading to MY post made it a heading for all of the conversation. If you don't see this it's because I took them out.
