"Personal life" sec'n

[edit]

As the footnote implies, the marriage was covered by the Times, and to an extent that, by policy, is applicable only to weddings carried out in (or is it "close to" in some specific sense of the term?) NYC. There was a correction published in about the following week: it took place in CT, IIRC a while before NY had gotten its act together about right to marry, and the reception in NYC was reported as being the wedding. IIRC the correction amounted to both stating the real fact, and noting that it should not, by policy, have been reported at all bcz it wasn't (whatever it appeared to a reporter to be?) a wedding.
