B-class
[edit]If this thing had any references it would be a solid B-class maybe a GA. --Colputt 02:32, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Controversy
[edit]"The aircraft first flew on 15 October 1985, but was cancelled a little more than a year later, for reasons that largely remain controversial" - the article doesn't say what these reasons were. Fairchild subsequently went bust, but that's a consequence of the cancellation rather than a reason for it (I think there's an implication that the government wanted Fairchild to go bust, but this is unstated). -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 22:46, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
- One suggestion in the Aircraft Illustrated article I've added as a reference is that the T-46 was cancelled as a result of congressionally imposed budget cuts, in the expectation that pork barrel politics would get the progam reinstated. That of course, did not happen.Nigel Ish (talk) 11:53, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
Weight
[edit]According the weights given, the aircraft would be over max weight with full fuel and no crew. Don't know what is correct or not. 70.171.134.52 (talk) 06:03, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
- Good spot - the empty weight should be 5275 lb - there was an error when the specification template was switched.Nigel Ish (talk) 20:00, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
