There is no evidence to support the interpretation that this lyric has anything to do with the game of hide and seek.
[edit]As I previously wrote: which was deleted without any reason given, I repeat:
There is no basis to infer that Amyntas was " playing hide and seek". Such a claim would require a reference. The explanation of "hied" makes it clear that Amyntas was hurrying, not hiding. Also, one does not "wander" when playing hide and seek. "Wander" may suggest he was searching but not playing. Vonuan (talk) 03:44, 26 February 2023 (UTC)
