Talk:Failure semantics

This reflects an ill description of the subject, without taking a clear foundation on the meaning of semantics, which could take on many different perspectives, e.g., from computer science, philosophy, computational semantics, semiotics and linguistics to name a few. Notwithstanding that the article talks about distributed systems, the term 'semantics' has many meanings and hence requires some grounding.

Furthermore, the article fails to present more than establishing that "failure semantics" occur whenever an error occurs, which does not in any way explain the meaning of the subject, and implies a causality that is highly debatable. Finally, the list of errors is not comprehensive, and only presents very generic causes for failures in (distributed) systems; it is unclear how this list adds to the understanding of the subject. 139.63.13.64 (talk) 15:13, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
