The current page seems close to a veiled advertisement for the Exida company. That's the impression I get from reading through it. In fact, not capitalising the first letter of the company name smacks of an attempt at disguising hubris with humility.

FMEDA in IEC 61508

[edit]

In the section on the development of FMEDA, this sentence appears:

"The method was explained to members of the IEC 61508 committee in the late 90s and included in the standard as a method of determining failure rate, failure mode and diagnostic coverage for products. FMEDA techniques have been further refined during the 2000s primarily during IEC 61508 preparation work."

There is no mention of FMEDA in IEC 61508:2010. I searched all parts of this standard. As a further check, I searched the IEC's electropedia as well as ISO's Online Browsing Platform, with no results for FMEDA or Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostics Analysis.

I won't dispute that Dr. Goble may have explained the method to IEC/TC 65A, but since I cannot find any reference to the method in the standards I think this section of the article should be changed. Macadk - 🇨🇦 Verum aquilonem fortis et liber (talk) 18:45, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
