Correction of typos and word choices
[edit]This article was evidently translated from Spanish, and there were several typos that reflect this probable origin. I have corrected several of them, but must defer other corrections until I find some material on Quiroga that I have in storage... please go ahead and do this if you have the information. Change all Quiroga to Facundo
[edit]The man's name is Juan Facundo Quiroga. Both Facundo and Quiroga are his "last names," however, Facundo is the more correct last name following hispanic naming traditions. So everywhere in the article where it says only "Quiroga...", it should be changed to "Facundo..." Just look at the book written by Domingo Faustino Sarmiento; it is entitled "Facundo, Civilization and Barbarism". --Rocketman768 13:30, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not that sure Facundo is a lastname, it looks more like a name to me. See for instance actor Facundo Arana, Facundo Monty, etc... Regarding the name of the book, it doesn't say much; Juan Facundo Quiroga is better known just as as Facundo Quiroga. Mariano(t/c) 13:56, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Facundo is definitively not a last name. It was Quiroga's middle and popular name. His contemporaries known and called him Facundo and that's the way history remembers him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.172.206.4 (talk) 02:19, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
