[edit]Need pages for CMOS Cameras of which Micron, Sony, Kodak and several others have products. Need to explain how CMOS is different than [1] CCD cameras. The algorithms are mature, but the camera technology to provide the required data is still not quite there. Need images that are not copywrited to put on since images are more telling.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Tmcsheery (talk • contribs) 20:22, 7 February 2006
Merge discussion
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result was merge Facial expression capture into Facial motion capture. -- DarkCrowCaw 17:26, 10 May 2012 (UTC)
This article should be deleted and folded into the Motion Capture page. There is not enough content to warrant a separate article, and it appears to be somewhat biased towards markerless facial tracking. Suggestions, comments? 007patrick 08:16, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- I've proposed an alternative merge with the facial expression capture article. The subject matter is largely the same, and perhaps the merged article will be sufficient as a stand-alone article. Dancter (talk) 18:22, 4 November 2009 (UTC)
- I agree. Merging these two makes more sense than merging this article to motion capture, IMO. --Waldir talk 10:18, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
- I do not agree, this not a form of markerless facial capture. Its an animation technique and inappropriate for inclusion into motion capture discussions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.248.3.242 (talk) 19:36, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
- I think first it should not be looked at as a choice, perhaps both merges can be done. Once that is said, I think everyone would agree that the page should be merged with the Facial Expression Capture page, while merging with motion capture is still a point of disagreements —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.240.245.202 (talk) 10:44, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
- Facial Motion Capture and Facial Expression Recognition are different subjects. I've only been studying this for my computer vision class about a month now (mostly focusing on the Facial Motion Capture) but it seems that some simplifying assumptions are made for expression recognition and the techniques although somewhat similar have very different goals. That being said, the article on Facial Expression Capture isn't very informative on the subject and doesn't include much that isn't already in the Facial Motion Capture article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.174.153.64 (talk) 18:07, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
Update with information about Avatar
[edit]How would you describe the methods used in the movie Avatar and are they relevant to this article? --Dedwarmo (talk) 20:00, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
context tag
[edit]i removed the context tag, the lead provided a sufficient summary of the subject and it no longer applied. forgot to make a note of it when I deleted it.DerickDiamond (talk) 01:30, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
