Zoran Stefanovic

[edit]

Does this need so much coverage, particularly considering that if I hadn't seen it on Wikipedia I would not have known anything about it? Is it actually part of the dispute between FIA and FOTA? I don't think it is. A small mention of it together with the N.Technology bit would be better I feel. mspete93 [talk] 10:08, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, that's the edited-down version. I felt it important to mention not simply his plans for a team, but also his complaint to the EC and why he felt the FIA was prejudiced against teams that would be classified as manufacturers. It's relevant to the article because the FIA-FOTA dispute was a series of ongoing political disputes that put the sport in jeopardy. In a way, the new teams are central to the disputes because the budget cap was created with new teams in mind. Stefanovic's claims are potentially as damaging to Formula One as the budget cap debate, so I felt it warranted a place here. Only a handful of sources have picked it up - but both Pitpass and F1 Fanatic are very reliable - probably because while potentially damaging, Stefanovic is only a very small fish in an ocean-sized pond. Some bits might be able to be cut out, but if Stefanovic wins his appeal, the future of the sport is up in the air again.Prisonermonkeys (talk) 11:29, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, but if nothing much comes of it then I will be cutting it down into just a small mention. mspete93 [talk] 11:54, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's a pretty serious issue. Even if nothing comes of it, a "small mention" won't be enough. The first paragraph at least should stay; the second can be edited down. We can probably edit some stuff on the search for a replacement for BMW into it to bulk it out a little bit, because the selection of the thirteenth team will be an issue.Prisonermonkeys (talk) 14:39, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
