Article title

[edit]

I'm not sure the current disambiguation is right. Patrick Turnbull's 1975 biography (p.128) describes him as a regular army officer, who was dismissive of officers holding the East India Company commission rather than the King's commission that he held. I'd propose that this Eyre Coote be moved either to Eyre Coote (British Army officer) and his nephew to Eyre Coote (Governor General) or simply to move this Eyre Coote to Eyre Coote as primary topic. American Revolution heading

[edit]

There is a heading for the American Revolution but no text.

From the balance of the article, it appears that this Coote did not serve in America. He appears to have been in India from 1779 to his death. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.175.108.185 (talk) 16:56, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nephew as Governor General of India

[edit]

The text says Coote's nephew served as General Governor of India. The link leads to a person who was Governor of Jamaica. The linked article makes no suggestion that nephew was ever in India, let alone as a high official. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.175.108.185 (talk) 16:59, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
