Leak
[edit]Notably this album has already been leaked online... Over a full month before the release, I might add. I've been listening to it for close to two weeks now. As the reviewers such as rolling stones reported, the lyrics and themes are darker than before. It took me a while for me to get used to as the songs are less catchy than that of 'Final Straw.' However, I think the songs work together in the album artform; which is to say, they hold together more meaningfully and purposefully. "High-quality?" That's debatable. The songs were riddled with bleeps and blips common of pre-release rips. And "It is unknown at this point what affect this will have on sales of the record." Correct. We will never know. But this is a rather common occurance and I see no need to include it in the article. Thoughts? Unless there was another release of the album that differs from the release in late March? Release
[edit]This album was released in Ireland on Friday, April 28th. The band appeared on the Late Late Show and signed copies of the album in Virgin Megastores in Dundrum Town Centre. Maybe this should be included.--212.2.182.216 00:33, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
"The track "-" is not an actual song, but a recording of background noise and a young child talking." Does anyone find this quite questionable? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.132.44.20 (talk • contribs) May 19, 2006.
- "Questionable" in what way? As in you don't believe that's what's on the album? Or that it should be? If you don't think it's true, be bold! -Phoenixrod 21:50, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- I heard about that. I think it is a relative of the producer or someone. Relative as in daughter/neice or somthing.Qwerasdfzxcvvcxz 23:00, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Title of album
[edit]The article says "The album title comes from a line in the song, "Hands Open".", but this isn't necessarily true, considering the other songs, "Shut Your Eyes" and "Open Your Eyes". It's kinda hard to explain formally though, could someone try and rewrite that line? AllySDude 20:35, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Re wrote the paragraph with your sugestion: The title suggests an amalgamation of several lines, and a theme across the album, including lines in the songs "Hands Open", "Chasing Cars", "Shut Your Eyes" and "Open Your Eyes". Ghostieguide 15:24, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Speyesopen.JPG
[edit]Image:Speyesopen.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Gomez Whippin' Piccadilly
[edit]At the very beginning of the song "Warmer Climate", you can hear the song "Whippin' Piccadilly" by Gomez being played. Listen carefully though. --213.83.125.225 (talk) 10:35, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

– Only two uses of this title. There was an uncontested move about 18 months ago, but to my eyes the album is clearly the primary topic. Per the article, this album charted at #1 in five different countries and was ranked #1 in the UK's end of year chart for 2006; it is also certified platinum in at least ten countries, multiple times in some cases. The Taylor Swift song did go platinum in the US but only reached the top 10 in New Zealand; despite the popularity of both Swift and The Hunger Games the song seems otherwise unremarkable. Pageview stats from the last 18 months also weigh heavily in favour of the album, which on average gets three times as many views. If three out of four readers are looking for the album then I don't see how it helps to take them there via a dab page. PC78 (talk) 20:25, 30 January 2019 (UTC) --Relisting. - Oppose - the term derives from the phrase "with one's eyes open" and there are other pages like Eyes Wide Open (disambiguation) or Open Your Eyes (disambiguation) which are derivative or similar to that phrase which we should help people navigate to. I've expanded the DAB page beyond the two entries it had. I note it was also missing Eyes Open Tour (associated with the album). With that, and the other uses, I don't see any being primary. -- Netoholic @ 05:09, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- I think you're stretching with some of those dab page entries. I don't see how a few similar terms or a bunch of non-notable tv episodes and songs (none of which have articles) affect my primary topic argument. There are still only two articles with this title. PC78 (talk) 11:47, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose no primary, and also a malformed move this should be a multimove template to move Eyes Open → Eyes Open (disambiguation) In ictu oculi (talk) 08:42, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Well, in it's previous form the dab page only had two entries and would have been redundant; Netoholic has since expanded it. PC78 (talk) 11:47, 31 January 2019 (UTC)

- Support per nom. The entries recently added to the dab page are apparently not sufficiently notable to be covered on WP, so they are irrelevant to PT determination. Given the page view stats cited in the nom I don’t see how one can deny the album is primary, especially considering it’s a two dab situation. —-В²C ☎ 08:36, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- "covered on Wikipedia" doesn't require it to be a stand-alone article. The items are covered on Qikipedia, even if part of a list article, for example. -- Netoholic @ 19:56, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
- Those songs that were added to the dab page are only named in tracklistings. Let's be realistic and not overstate their significance. PC78 (talk) 20:42, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

- Support. The album is clearly primary here. Black Kite (talk) 20:07, 6 February 2019 (UTC)

– "Eyes Open" is more of a generic phrase. The Taylor Swift song of the same name gets more page views than this album. In addition, there is a Youssou N'Dour album of the same name. Therefore, being that the last move request did not receive overwhelming support, I would not consider this album the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. JE98 (talk) 22:44, 10 October 2023 (UTC)
- Support, not because of any generic phrase, but the song does get more pageviews than this album, so no obvious primary topic. Station1 (talk) 05:51, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
- Support per nom, no PRIMARY.--Ortizesp (talk) 05:54, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
- Support per nomination, Station1 and Ortizesp. There are nine entries listed upon the Eyes Open (disambiguation) page, with no indication that the 2006 Snow Patrol album has retained such high standing in musical history that it dwarfs the combined prominence of the remaining eight entries. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 00:39, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
