[edit]this picture has Phil playing the git-fiddle,he isnt lsted as a band member and therefore subsequently should be replaced with a photograph of the band preferrably the current line up.the band would agree and you know it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.46.49.98 (talk) 16:51, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Southern Nihilism Front
[edit]What is it about? I've seen it on one of their shirts and the insert of I think Confederacy of Ruined Lives. Anybody know what it's about and if it should be added to the main article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wardrich (talk • contribs) 09:42, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Talk page clean-up
[edit]Is it alright to remove all the "Image violation warnings" below? They all point to files that have been removed. Wardrich (talk) 11:56, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

"Racist Band?"
[edit]Found this stuck in one of the warnings for the image violations. No idea who posted it. Wardrich (talk) 11:56, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Why doesn't anyone consider this band racist with a song like white nigger?
- If you can find me the lyrics of the song, then fine. Otherwise, how do you even know the track is about wiggers (other than the title). Mike Williams' lyrics are usually really hard to understand. On top of all this, is the term "wigger" even considered racist?Wardrich (talk) 11:56, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
- Mike Williams denies being a racist himself. Gothbag (talk) 17:48, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
the band is not racist. the term "white nigger" can be applied to different situations. furthermore, Mike Williams denies being a racist and has even been interviewed by a black man (you can find this interview on YouTube) whom he seems to get along with very well.
the racist accusations are ridiculous and clearly based on a lack of context and the band's basis in the American South. the term "white nigger" in the song's context refers to being a poor, lower-clas drug-user. Mike Williams (vocalist) has been arrested and addicted to drugs for years, so he's not really in a position to look down on any particular racial group.67.176.22.127 (talk) 06:06, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm sure that makes everyone feel so much better. Although, I am curious to know what the bands normal application of the more common euphemism entails. I mean, given the context, it would seem to imply that there is a distinction you can make along racial lines that has some fairly specific significance. What, pray tell, could or should be the normal context?
- White Nigger comes from a Nickname for Marc Schultz.
- While tourning for In the Name of Suffering Schultz was listening (and singing-along) a lot the Straight-Outta-Compton-Album from N.W.A. For singing-along lines like:
Straight outta Compton, crazy motherfucker named Ice Cube/From the gang called Niggaz With Attitudes
— NWA - Straight outta Compton - the other bandmembers called him the White Nigger. Thats the context of this Songtitel.
- Thats everything beeing told in J. Bennett: Hazardous Prescription. In Albert Mudrian: Precious Metal. Cambridge 2009 ISBN 978-0-306-81806-6--Fraoch (talk) 08:48, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
Dopesick intro
[edit]the article implies that Mike's screams on the intro to "Dopesick" are a result of his cutitng his hand on a glass bottle, however, listening to the track, it is clear tha the sound of breaking glass comes after the sound of Mike screaming. Williams's screaming is merely a microphone test and the unsourced anecdote should probably be removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.240.17.13 (talk) 14:48, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

When did she become his ex?
[edit]The article states:
"Following the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, singer Mike Williams and his now ex-girlfriend Alicia Morgan ..."
The phrase "now ex-girlfriend" is ambiguous:
- Now in the narrative sense: they broke up during or before Hurricane Katrina, before the aftermath.
- Now in the sense of today, the reader's today: Williams and Morgan broke up some time after the events of this narrative paragraph.
I leave this to someone who knows.
