I added a section in benefits of participation about how extracurricular activities impact familesKristenn4 (talk) 05:36, 15 April 2020 (UTC). I removed "band" from the list of examples. Band is not an Extra-Curricular activity. Band across the united states is a co-curricular activity and was recognized by House Concurrent Resolution 121 this month as an important part of school curriculum. i think ECA (extracricullar activites) are very important.
- It depends on the country. In Japan for example, band is a club and not a class. 128.22.62.223 (talk) 06:41, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
How does H.R. 121 have ANYTHING to do with extra-curricular activities? It has to do with the House stating that Japan should apologize for its Imperial Armed Forces; they used comfort women. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.252.8.141 (talk) 21:20, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Extracurricular activity versus After-school activity
[edit]Hi,
I've tried to complete the Wikidata items on Extracurricular activity versus After-school activity, which are currently d:Q1341006 and d:Q494330, but I'm not sure I get the difference between the two topics in English. In French, activité extra-scolaire generally refers to an activity practised by school-age people that has no connection with school, while fr:Accueil périscolaire or activité périscolaire are activities outside the school curriculum and not compulsory, but which are organized on school premises and take place just after or during the school day, so that pupils or students stay on site and can be looked after until they go home. Is there a similar distinction in English, and if not, how do we distinguish between Extracurricular activity and After-school activity? Astirmays (talk) 21:58, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
Importance of Diversity Section
[edit]Isn't it rather biased for Wikipedia? For example, where it says, "This demonstrates the importance of implementing multiculturalism into school environments, both academically and in extracurricular activities. It is important to continue research on incorporating multiculturalism and ethnic/cultural clubs into schools," it seems to explicitly support the matter.
By the way, did I approach the issue correctly by posting in the talk page, or would it have been better to review the editing guidelines and change it myself? Or is it something I'd actually best leave alone? EliasRiveraReal (talk) 15:45, 19 June 2024 (UTC)
