Mistaken use of 'similar'
[edit]Removed descriptor 'similar' and replaced with earlier as the two expeditions could not have been more dissimilar to each other. The 1869 trip was completed with only what was carried aboard the boats or procured along the route by trade, hunting, or theft. The later trip featured cached supplies and a planned time line years in length compared to the months of the original trip. Please see: The Exploration of the Colorado River and it's Canyons, J. W. Powell, ISBN 0-486-20094-9
