Details of Some (not so "minor") Changes I Made

• Replaced the term "Global Distribution System (GDS)" with "Computer Reservation System (CRS)" as they have virtually the same meaning in this instance. In addition, there's no redirect from GDS to CRS (There is from "Global Distribution System" to "Computer Reservation System", however).

• • To those outside of the Travel Industry "Computer Reservation System" has a more explanatory name than "Global Distribution System" (the latter could mean global distribution of virtually anything to the uninformed).

• Replaced the link to a Travel Weekly (Travel Industry-Only publication) article re WorldSpan-Expedia dispute with a Google cached link. The former is only available to those in the Travel Industry.

I do not agree, Worldspan is a GDS and not a CRS, and anyway I am not sure that people who have nothing to do with the travel industry go and check expedia page on wikipedia.

I have nothing to do with the travel industry and I came here so your argument is invalid. I came to find out whether Expedia was ever part of Microsoft. (yes, Expedia was but is not now)

Customer Service section

Anyone notice that 199.3.115.254 who keeps removing the customer service section is posting from

Expedia.com SPRINTLINK (NET-199-3-115-0-1) 199.3.115.0 - 199.3.115.255

I'm not saying that the section necessarily belongs, but that removal of uncomplimentary items by someone from the company looks fishy. -- Alanhwiki 21:10, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia is a general information resource and should not be riddled with opinions and comments no matter how detailed the bad experiences are. I like the victimsofexpedia site, but i believe this is not the right venue for that.

It appears to be an advert for Expedia. The Customer Services section is a joke.

If the entry lists awards that Expedia has won then it should also list customer complains from sites such as Expedia@pissedConsumer.Com or else the entry is highly misleading. The entry currently reads as if it were written by Expedia's PR people.

Blogs are not considered reliable secondary sources. See wp:rs. I agree the award does not belong here, and I will remove that too. The rest of the article looks ok to me, are there other sections you think should be changed? I also don't see a connection between that IP and Expedia, or any recent edits by that IP. Logo Change

Expedia.com has changed logo 2 days ago. The change is already visible on their website (English version only so far, it seems). The tagline has also changed and become "Where you book matters." Should this be added to the page? --Jeherve (talk) 13:10, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
