Possibly Kull always feel guilt about Alas fate.

Perhaps Kulls respect for women and his chastity - a marked contrast to Conan- is due to him feeling guilt about Alas fate, an act of mercy as it was. Also Am-ra= Amra a name strongly connected with Conan.
