Does the nickname of the club really need to be linked to the current page? Andy86 13:12, 4 May 2007 (UTC) Just realised the link should be to the information about the grecians lower down the page. I will change it.

06/07 season and badges

I think the use of team logos on the new season section may constitute a copyright violation. "Fair use" only applies to illustrating the article in question (see the various image pages). It's probably best to remove them. ArtVandelay13 14:55, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

did they win an unofficial world cup

I heard this somewhere. Did they?

Given that they're not a country, this seems unlikely.....

Are you thinking of West Auckland FC who are sometimes credited with winning the first ever (unofficial) World Cup? Gadsby West 19:43, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Player page deleations

several Exeter players are listed for deleation at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paul Benson. Maybe people reading this are appropriate to discuss this nomination? NB: this is not meant to be a personal endorsement/depreciation of the nominations, I just think that the people who end up here are probably appropriate and well placed to reaching a good concencus on the nominations. They have mostly been deleted. However, I've saved them and copied them to my userspace, so they can be easily restored if we get promotion. Well, there's nothing wrong with a bit of optimism. ArtVandelay13 02:47, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Capacity

There seems to be some debate over the official capacity of St James Park. According to the groundskeeper on a non-official Exeter City message board ([1]) and Football Manager 2007 it is: 8,830. Please do not change the capacity back to 9,036 unless you have a sufficient source. Rowan 14:37, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

I have amended the capacity back to 9,036, with 3,806 seats as per http://www.footballgroundguide.com/exeter_city/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Waterlooroader (talkcontribs) 23:46, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

This http://www.exetercityfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10436~1333645,00.html seems to be a more recent citation on the capacity )(End 2007/08/beginning 2008/09 season). It's also probably pretty reliable given that it has been taken directly from the club's official website. 86.129.229.127 (talk) 11:55, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Jamie Mackie

On Jamie Mackie's entry it says "Due to his surname he is often mistaken for being Scottish when in fact he is English in nationality". So why then does he have a Scottish flag next to his name? Xmth 08:47, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Theories for nickname

Is the "we hate green scum" theory really necessary? It isn't particularly relevant considering ECFC were known as the Grecians before they ever played PAFC and ECFC used to play in green and white. Mageslayer99 10:32, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Brazil's first international match

This article made the statement that "Brazil's 1st international match was against [Exeter] City". Since Exeter is by no interpretation of the word a "nation", the game against Brazil cannot possibly be classified as an "international" game. According to the Brazil national football team page on Wikipedia the game against Exeter is believed to be the first ever game played by the Brazilian national side. But it certainly was not their first true "international" fixture. So I have edited the words accordingly. Gadsby West 19:39, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Motto?

Does the club have an official motto? 82.32.72.18 (talk) 22:22, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

League Two

Shoulden't we edit the page and say Exeter are in League Two its on the official Football League website and the fixtures have also been released and won't new viewers get confused by seeing the page say Exeter in Conference National? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.157.136.47 (talk) 12:22, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Brazil score

In the article, the 1914 fixture with Brazil is claimed to have been a 2-0 victory for Brazil. Equally the Brazil team's article states the same score referencing it to a book. However, I have found two BBC articles ([2] and [3]) which claim the score was 3-3. Can anyone shed any more light on the real score, or know of any other potentially corroborating sources. 137.222.230.135 (talk) 04:32, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Marcus Stewart

Marcus Stewart was removed from the squad (both on this page and on the 'footer' underneath all Exeter player's entries). He did retire in April 2010, but he's still working for the club. Manager Paul Tisdale, who's had number 17 assigned to him yet never intended to play, has always been mentioned as part of the squad. Shouldn't Stewart be included too? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.56.64.251 (talk) 16:37, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
