Clashing info with the American EEZ article
[edit]I quote from the American EEZ Page:
"The United States has the world's second largest exclusive economic zone after France."
Both articles state their EEZ as being second largest so which is really the largest? Tungster24 (talk) 21:21, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- It's probably differing American numbers based on whether you include its various unincorporated territories. The numbers might also differ by continental shelf claims. Per this official French government publication, the figure of 10,186,624km² currently used in this article is without the continental shelf, and with the continental shelf claims it is 10,911,921km². Both are lower than the 11,351,000km² listed on the US article, which is roughly similar to this US government page describing the area as "3.4 million square nautical miles" and includes all territories.
