Churchill alternative and early development from Cromwell
[edit]Reading through the article I think we may be mixing tanks up. As I understand it, Heavy Cromwell was the meteor/cromwell based alternative to Churchill in the infantry tank role. Excelsior was an Assault tank. Assault tanks were made for a completely different role (assaulting heavily emplaced enemies, rather than supporting the infantry). I get how they built on experiences of engineering the previous projects, but the majority of the article seems to be about tanks other than the Excelsior. This is then getting mixed up with Excelsior being considered heavy or infantry tank in edits. Lkchild (talk) 21:34, 25 November 2017 (UTC)
