Formal journal ranking lists are history now.http://www.theaustralian.com.au/higher-education/end-of-an-era-journal-rankings-dropped/story-e6frgcjx-1226065864847 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.33.65.98 (talk) 15:06, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
ERA results out
[edit]The ERA 2010 results are now out. There is a mix of responses in the news, which we need to integrate.[1] John Vandenberg (chat) 02:47, 4 February 2011 (UTC)
Some possible problems
[edit]I feel that this article is overdoing it a bit. For example, I don't see why a complete list of participating institutions is needed (can easily be linked to on the ERA website). Also, as an anonymous IP pointed out in a recent edit summary, the list of the 15 top universities is completely available elsewhere. Apart from a remark "the three top institutions were...", I don't see the need for a table with 15 institutions and their detailed scores on many different criteria. Re-focusing the article on what this is about, rather than the particular results obtained, seems to be a more useful approach. Just my 2 cents... --Crusio (talk) 09:06, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- I agree about the list of institutions. I suspect that the list is better placed on another article, as the list of institutions that government is fairly consistent across Australian policy and legislation of the Australian higher ed sector.
- I also agree with removing the table of results, as the aggregate of scores across a cluster is useless, but I must note that I am heavily involved in the ERA process for one of these institutions. Also the 2010 results (and table in the article) are superseded by the 2012 results (for which we dont have a table). John Vandenberg (chat) 04:05, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
Criticisms

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
[edit]Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
