I have removed a good deal of material which seems to be primarily promotional. A religious education section needs to be restored, though ti would need considerable rewriting DGG (talk) 22:11, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
This is fine, but the way it is now should be allowed on Wikipedia as is... Right? Personally, I'm a tad confused because Wikipedia is an information site. People go to Wikipedia to find out about a place, a business, a person ect. Religious beliefs of an organization is information that the viewer may want to know about. We're not trying to "sell" Excel Christian School... We're just trying to get as much information about our school on the web so that people know who we are, what we teach, and how we teach it. I actually found many other private schools on Wikipedia. I followed what they have already placed on their Wikipedia pages. I used them as templates so that I wouldn't run into this. Not sure why you deleted the pictures of athletics... That just doesn't make any sense. I would love for you to explain that to me. Also, public schools can talk about their methods of teaching through text books, but as soon as a private school talks about its methods of teaching through a bible, you delete it? Not sure how you can justify that. I have read all the "Your first article" pages and here is what it says on the subject:
"Advertising: Please do not try to promote your product or business. Please do not insert external links to your commercial website unless a neutral party would judge that the link truly belongs in the article; we do have articles about products like Kleenex or Sharpies, or notable businesses such as McDonald's, but if you are writing about a product or business be sure you write from a neutral point of view, that you have no conflict of interest, and that you are able to find references in reliable sources that are independent from the subject you are writing about."
I have written the Excel Christian Schools Wikipedia page from a "neutral point of view." There are no "conflicts of interest." It is all fact. It's just information.(MarketingMan12) —Preceding unsigned comment added by MarketingMan12 (talk • contribs) 04:18, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Contested deletion
[edit]This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... It’s format and information presented is no different than Nike’s Wikipedia page. This page is only being attacked as it’s a Christian school. I have made countless edits and even took every “edit suggestion” to heart. There’s absolutely no reason to delete or completely re-write this page. If edits are needed so that’s it’s not unambiguously promotional, then I welcome the edits. Also, this page was already initially bombarded with edits in the beginning to make it less promotional... I’m not exactly sure why, (after 10 years) we’re having to go through this again. -71.93.64.233 (talk) 16:49, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
